Nyanyanya 2

Three weeks had passed since Kirie had came to this world and it was currently in a fall month. He had learned a lot in that time, he knew the basics of this world's viewpoints, common laws and practices. He had even learned to write and speak in this worlds common tongue, the blessing he had recieved had allowed him to understand what anyone said and being able to read any language, it even allowed others to understand what he was saying, but no one could read his english characters. He found out if he concentrated while listening he could turn off the translation and hear their original voices. Everything about this world was different, the common plants and animals, the only similarities between the new and old worlds were the original beasts(though some differences are there) and humans.
One of the biggest things he had learned was magic, and just how useless he was at it. It had taken a week just to find his stongest atribute in magic. He was mainly adept at illusion, he found out he was rare in the fact that he could resonated with any atribute, but any thing he had tried casting in a single element was far weaker than average. His water spells were like playing with a water pistol, fire spells as strong as matches or a lighter, ect. Only his illusion spells were remarkably solid looking.
The basics of magic in this world rely on which elements you resonate with, in total there were six elements, light, darkness, fire, water, earth, and air. Illusion was something that required multiple elements to acomplish, air for sound, light and darkness for lighting combined with fire and water for imagery, and earth for false substance. Most who go into it only focus on a few combinations of elements, if they don't have the natural ability for certain elements unless they combine their magic with others, there is only so much they can do. Magic though common in this world, was mainly used by the masses in the form of items. The majority of magic items were low grade and used in everyday uses, anyone could use them if they were made to accept aether, a crystalized form of magic power. Stuff like ovens, and water producing items were common, although common they were't exactly affordable to the lowest rungs of society, but any business worth anyone's time employed magic item use.
Natural born talent with magic wasn't as common, only about a tenth of the populace could use magic themselves. The majority of those are only ever able to use three elements, four being rare, five being nearly unheard of, and six thought impossible.
The thought of his impossible resonance with the elements only made Kirie more depressed. The fact that he could create an illusion of a fireball so fierce anyone would wet themselves at the sight of it, but his real fireball would do no more than singe a quarter sized area of their fur. His entire casting process for illusion was imagining the the product, thats it, he was told novices usually requre channeling their thoughts through words, of hand movements. So he was at least a higher level than novice, but still he couldn't be an OP baddass with his skillset, at most he'd be a minor distraction.
At the present, outside Deserece in an empty field, Kirie heaved a weary sigh, and flopped on the ground. He glanced to his right, when he had flopped on the ground he heard a whistling go by. He's heard the noise multiple times in this area since he started practicing in this field, he concluded it must by some kind of insect. Looking up at the sky he sighed again.
"What am I suppose to do with this kind of power?" Kirie asking no one in particular, reaching his hand towards the sun. "Isn't illusion about deception, what kind of champion uses the power of lies to bring their people to salvation?" From the corner of his sight he caught a blur movving toward him fast."Oof.." Kirie let out air as the bundle of fur jumped on his stomach.
Twoface nearly full grown started kneading her paws into his belly while purring. Her growth was crazy, in three weeks from a kitten she was now nearly the size Kirie remembered he being before. Tail curling to her side she turned around and looked at him, still kneading.
"Yeah, I should probably stop wallowingin self pity. I should look on the brighter side the image I've created doesn't seem half bad." Kirie sat up catching the cat in his arms, and petting her. He looked in front of him to see a human, not just any human but an image of himself back on earth. It just stood there silently watching him. Kirie set Twoface down and stood up, walking towards the illusion. As he stood in front of it his head drooped. "It's so unfair... WHY DID YOU MAKE ME SO SHORT!!!!" Even on the tips of his toes, arms stretched out he couldn't touch the top of his formerself's head. He felt just a little resentment about it, in the palace's library in particular he constantly needed help reaching books.
"Nyahahaha..." The iris's of his illusion changed to gold and a recognizable laugh spilled from his lips. The illusion crossed it's arms and looked at Kirie. "You're pretty interesting to watch, your mood seems to swing about drasticly. There is so much going on that you don't see." Smiling he pointed a finger at Kirie. "You need to embrace what you have to move on, believe me your talent is not worthless, you just have to hold that truth and run with it."
"What do you mean by that, and is your name Shironyan?" Kirie replied shortly, the resentment still burning in his eyes.
"That is what they call me here. Are you mad that I made you in my image. The description of me here is to be shorter than the average short person. By the way you look so small and cute in this body, Nyahahahah...." Shironyan puts his hand on Kirie's head and roughed up his hair.
"Stop that.." Kirie retreats from the hand. "So I'm like this to be recognizable?" Kirie slouched as he dropped back down to the ground with a sigh, his tail limp at his side. "Couldn't you have shown them a more inspiring form, something more average height with at least a little muscle." Kirie looked at his arms and heaved another heavy sigh. " A kid's body can't strike a heroic visage. That combined with a lack of any destructive force, no one needs someone like that in a party, all I can do is provide a safe escape, or cuase confusion."
"As I said all you need to do is believe in your own power, then you will see your true strength." Shironyan looks kirie in the eyes with a smile. "Other than those that were, a new person approaches. I'll see you again, Nyhahaha..."
"Wait.." The illusion crumbles into a pile of dirt before Kirie could respond, and he was left alone, arm outstretched. A couple of seconds passed as he thinks on what was said.
"Hey! Kirie! You out there?" Korako's voice was heard yelling in the distance, as she got closer she looked down to see Kirie still on the ground. "What are you doing lying on the dirt, weren't you suppose to use this time to practice." Her face stern and tail swishing from side to side sporaticly, she continued on with the aura of a scolding mother. "Hurry get up, we need to get back to do chorework, then eat." Kirie sighed showing a tired face. "Don't give me that look, we need to continue doing it for the stipened the church is giving you, don't you want walking around money?"
It's true he was doing chores around the church he was staying at to earn a little money. He didn't want to market on ideas from his world, if possible he wanted to earn money through skills he learned from this world. He would keep technological advances from his own world a secret until he desprately needed to use them. There really was no reason to polute this untainted world with foreign concepts. Alot of the knowledge from his world still had applications but he didn't know if he could get similar materials, so far from what he has seen this world had the fantasy metals he was use to like mythril, and adamantite, but the base metals were different.
He didn't see iron, copper, gold, silver, or platinum. He had seen a similar metal to gold they called ougo, but it was naturally hard nowhere near as soft as gold, just a similar hue. The same was to be said with the other cheap metals, loero was similar to iron but was bright like steel and light like aluminum, yual had the feel of copper but was green without oxidization, shizo was a metal used in cutlery it was similar to silver but black in color. All the plants and domesticated animals were different then his old world. There was just too many differences to try to capitalize on his knowledge any way. At least indivualality in personalities stayed the same.
"I know, I'm sure Carloff would be sad if we stopped being able to go by his stand. I just wish I could progress farther than what I'm capable of now." Kirie shook his head as he got off the ground. " I can't help a single person how I am now, how can I be called a champion with such a weak skillset?"
Korako's response was a sigh, she looked at him and sighed again." What are you talking about, the skillset you have is perfect for helping people. You seem to be blessed with the ability to learn quickley, you've gone leaps and bounds ahead of most who have just started learning magic, true you don't have the oomph, but your manipulation of magic is very fast, you have control were most don't. Your a hard worker you don't play around when your suppose to study, and I think most importantly of all you have a gentle feel to you. Just cuase you don't think your powerful to your standerds, you are to ours."
"I'm frustrated, thats all. I'll continue to practice, to try to get stronger, so much out there is still unkown to me. I have to be able to survive trying to help." Kirie heaved a long sigh.
"Come on we should get back." Korako extended her hand, with a bright smile,"Kebobs will help you feel better."
With that, the two of them left the field and hurried back to town. A few minutes passed and a figure emerged from a tree at the edge of the clearing. A male figure wraped in cloth, spat in the direction of the parting duo.
Red eyes narrowing he took off the cloth covering his face, a sneer on his lips, a face of a jet black fur with a scar across his nose.
"Shit, shit, shit, another failed attempt, how is he dodging all the darts. At this point it can't just be coincedince. Well better at least report, don't know how to tell them I've failed again, and why was he talking to his projection." after the final word the man seemed to vanish.

A week later, Kirie was heading back from training.
"I wonder what's going on, I haven't seen or heard from Korako today." His ears flattened on his head as he pondered." I don't have chores today so I think I'll go take a nap." Tomoe on his neck gave a approving meow, and yawned.
Going through the capital's streets on his own was much easier than before, he had gotten used to the landmarks, and easily slipped his way to his lodginng. Going into the building he noticed no one was around, as he climbed the stairs, a scream rang out, coming from his room.
Kirie rushed to his door, opening it he was horrified by what he saw. Korako, her clothes torn and bloodied, a large clawed wound on her abdomen. She was still alive, so he went to her side. She looked at him and uttered a single whispered word before going limp.
"Run..." Korako's eyes lost their light and glazed over. Kirie's mind raced saddness was pushed aside for the moment, whatever this was, it couldn't be good for him if she wanted him to run. He took off as fast as he could regretting working too much on magic and not enough endurance training. Where could he go, the month had changed to the Oran moon, which meant that a harsher cold coming.
"Stop" A city guard called out to him. Kirie kept sprinting towards the city gates. If Korako wanted him to run, he couldn't trust anyone here. His heart ached as he ran through the streets, Korako was the only person to have been so nice to him. He had heard rumors of disdain towards him, that people doubted he really was sent from their god. He had no doubt her death was related to his failings to inspire a noble image. Tears fell from Kirie's eyes as he ran. He didn't even feel how deep Tomoe's claws were in his back.
As he got within sight of the gate he could see a line of guards blocking the way, he quickly darted into a alley way, he saw no one was around so he cast an illusion on himself, bending the light around him he hid his figure from sight. He created an illusion of silence around his feet so he couldn't be heard. Using what he had learned so far he could mask his pressense to a certain degree.
Kirie came out of the alley and went to the gate, the guards had a drawing in his likeness on some papers.
Any doubts in his mind that it wasn't a set up flew away out the window, there was no way someone could have reported what had happened, and the blame was being put squarly on him.
"Have you seen this beast, he is acussed of raping and murdering a nun earlier today?" A guard shoved the wnted poster in the face of the elderly beastman trying to leave the city. "Her Highness has put finding this degenerate on the top of the list. Please report anyone suspicous." Kirie slipped in behind the old beastman and made his way through the blockade at the gate.

...

Meanwhile in the capital palace, the princess paced back and forth behind the throne. A knock came from the chamber doors.
"Come in!" Shirouka said with a bite. The doors opened to reveal Minister Barboros, a grim look on his face. "Have you found him!?" The princess yelled at the man.
"No, your Majesty, he can't be far, all exits are blocked."
"Find him! Go!" the princess screamed at the minister, scrambling to leave. when it was quiet and the doors closed, she muttered,"We must get him so we can conform him into my slave. He will be mine. That slut touched him, he can't be tainted by other women." Her face contorted into a grotesque mask, a twisted smile with narrow eyes full of madness. She started to lick the blood off her claws."Disgusting, taste like a whore. I
will have him to myself, locked in a box."

...

After what felt like hours of running, the sun was getting low, and Kirie was exhausted. His adreneline wearing down he felt the tearing of his shoulders. In the distance was a farm. As he pryed Tomoe off his back he skirted the edge of the field and made his way towards the barn.
